Pilot: Unteroffizier Georg Granabetter - Killed.


At 15.05 hours the II/Gruppe was scrambled to intercept an incoming fighter "Rodeo". Uffz. Granabetter was flying wingman to Uffz. Vogt. Vogt and Granabetter set off in chase of two islolated Spitfires, Uffz. Vogt attacked one and sucessfully shot it down, he then set his sights on his second victim. Suddenly, from out of nowhere, Uffz. Granabetter cut in front of him with guns blazing but was hit by fire from Vogt's attack! Granabetter's 109 spiralled down into the sea off the coast of Boulogne.
