REASON FOR LOSS:
On the Tuesday morning of the 20th July, F/L. Deugo took off for a Rhubarb mission to Ypres, Belgium, over the target area his aircraft was hit by Flak and his Typhoon crashed killing him instantly.
Note: Just under a year earlier whilst serving with No.56 Squadron he was on patrol in Typhoon IB Serial No. R7678 with Sgt K. M Stewart-Turner,and Typhoon of Serial No. R8199 when they were attacked and shot down by Spitfires of No.401 Squadron off Dover. Deugo succeeded in baling out but sadly Turner was killed in the incident.
